The saga of MY Titan continues! « Thread Started on Oct 21, 2009, 10:12am »
I am green with envy! Shelley's Titan runs as if it is a Swiss watch, while my trigger refuses to reset after each round fired. I finally e-mailed my order to Numerich Gunparts for my Titan's trigger return spring... the wait begins. I have alrady contacted my 'smith and John told me that he has yet to work on a Titan. (I hope that it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg for labor to get this little pistol running right).
The good news, however, is that it only cost $1.65 for a new spring. Installing it will be the real expense.

Alas, no. These litle jewels were purchased from the gun case of a local pawn broker. (They had been purchased from an estate sale, somehwere in southwestern Washington.) However, at $89.95 + tax for each pistol ($95.00 all told) they were still a bargain!

After a talk with Johnny Semm (my gunsmith). John stated that my pistol likely suffers from a weak trigger return spring. (He also said that the symptom could possibly be amplified by oil in the trigger return spring guide that has congealed). The problem should be readily remedied by replacing the trigger return spring and cleaning out the spring guide.

It (Numerich Arms Gunpart #59740B) arrived today! (That's the trigger spring for the FIE TITAN E-27). Cost to me: $1.65.
I'll be able to take it to John Semm on Wednesday and have him install it in my pistol. While I don't know how much THAT will cost, it should be worth it to get my little pistol to function properly. The saga continues... stay tuned.

The Titan .25, trigger return spring, and $40.00 made it to Shooter's Service Center this afternoon. John started working on it almost immediately. I plan on dropping by the shop tomorrow and leaving 10 rounds of UMC "green box" .25 ACP ammunition for "proof testing" the pistol when he's finished effecting the aforementioned repairs. I'll keep everyone advised of the outcome.

The Titan has returned. Here's a bit of irony for you, the trigger return spring that I bought was WEAKER than the original! One of the rounds that I had provided for testing the pistol failed to ignite and the handgun STILL has some trigger reset issues. I was advised to "run a couple of boxes of ammunition" through the piece to see if that wouldn't cure the problem.
